Our Sustainability Commitment

AV done right, from start to finish.

We believe our responsibility to clients and the environment does not end at installation.

It extends through every stage of a system’s life, including how it ends. From first design to final retirement, we take a deliberate, accountable approach to how AV technology is specified, used, decommissioned, and replaced.

At a Glance

  • 3S: Sustainability, Security, and Smart Solutions guide every project we take on.
  • 100% of decommissioned assets are directed through certified recycling or resale channels.
  • 0 data‑bearing devices are retired without a secure wipe or physical destruction.
  • Since 2017, we have been serving organizations across Vancouver and BC with responsible AV solutions.

Our Philosophy

Our work does not stop when the installation is complete.

The AV industry moves fast. New innovations change how organizations communicate and collaborate, and upgrades are a natural part of that evolution. What happens at the end of an AV system’s life matters just as much as how it begins.

At Limitless AV, we believe responsible lifecycle management is part of the job. How equipment is decommissioned, disposed of, or repurposed determines whether a technology transition creates value or creates waste. We have built a secure and environmentally responsible process to ensure every project we touch is handled with care, from first design to final retirement.

Our Approach:

  • Sustainability
  • Security
  • Smart Solutions

These principles guide every project we take on.

Sustainability

We take responsibility for what we specify and what we remove, from the first design conversation through to final disposal.

  • We partner with manufacturers who share our environmental values.
  • We specify energy‑efficient designs from the start.
  • We minimize waste at every stage of the AV lifecycle.

Security

Decommissioning a system is not just an environmental process. It is a security process. We treat every data‑bearing device with the same rigour as any IT asset retirement.

  • We wipe or physically destroy all data‑bearing devices.
  • We document the chain of custody for every asset removed.
  • We comply with applicable data protection standards.

No exceptions, regardless of project size or scope.

Smart Solutions

The most sustainable AV system is one that was designed thoughtfully from the beginning. We make decisions early that reduce energy consumption and extend the life of every system we install.

  • We use motion and occupancy sensors to eliminate unnecessary display runtime.
  • We specify energy‑efficient architectures at the design stage.
  • We apply asset repurposing and resale strategies that extend value.
  • We measure outcomes tied to operating costs and environmental impact.

How We Work

A clear process for every decommission and transition.

When AV systems reach the end of their life—whether due to reduced performance, loss of manufacturer support, or changing needs—we handle the full transition. That includes screens and video walls, mounts, amplifiers, processors, cameras, speakers, video bars, and all associated cabling.

01. Assessment and Planning

We review all existing assets to identify what can be repurposed, resold, or recycled. From there, we build a decommissioning plan that minimizes downtime and maximizes the value recovered from your investment.

02. Secure Data Protection

Every data‑bearing device is wiped or physically destroyed before it leaves your site. We document the process and can provide confirmation on request, so you have a clear record for compliance purposes.

03. Responsible Removal

All equipment is removed safely and directed to certified e‑waste and recycling channels. Nothing is discarded without accountability, and we maintain a clear chain of custody throughout.

04. Transition and Handover

Whether the space is being upgraded or repurposed, we leave it ready for what comes next. New technology, a clean slate, or anything in between—we make sure the handover is complete and well‑documented.

Why It Matters

Sustainability and smart business are not in conflict.

Taking a responsible approach to AV lifecycle management delivers real organizational value, not just environmental benefit.

Cost Savings

Equipment that lasts longer and consumes less energy lowers both your operating costs and your long‑term replacement budget.

Environmental Responsibility

Certified recycling keeps equipment out of landfills and supports the ESG commitments your organization has already made.

Stronger Reputation

Organizations that manage their technology responsibly signal something meaningful to clients, employees, and partners.

Regulatory Readiness

Environmental reporting requirements are evolving. Our process gives you documentation and a clear record to build from.

Our Partners

We work with manufacturers who take this seriously.

Ecoefficient Initiative

Extron’s Ecofficient program identifies AV products engineered for reduced power consumption, lower thermal output, and long‑term sustainability.

Products bearing the mark are designed to align with LEED, WELL, and corporate sustainability goals—helping reduce the AV industry’s carbon footprint from specification through to deployment.

Designing a Positive Future

Logitech’s sustainability commitment spans product design, climate action, and circular economy practices.

By 2030, they are committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions to near zero. Nearly 80% of their products already use post‑consumer recycled plastics, and 84% carry carbon labels—making their environmental impact transparent and traceable.

Our Responsible Journey

Neat designs video conferencing devices with sustainability built in from the start.

Their auto‑wake system saves up to 80% on power consumption when rooms are unoccupied, and their devices achieve a 98% recovery rate and 88.8% recycling rate. Neat products are designed for circularity—simple to repair, refurbish, and recycle.
